On Leadership: A Conversation With Barb White

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The past few months of adapting to and overcoming new challenges has altered the way we live, work, learn, and socialize. In the face of all of these unprecedented and, at times, daunting uncertainties, one value that everyone can adopt to not just survive but thrive is resilience.

The Avoka Group’s CEO Barbara White joined Misti Mukherjee, Founder and Managing Member of Extensio Law, on the podcast extensio@work to discuss the impacts of the pandemic on ourselves, our teams, and our organizations and how we can all be more resilient.

White shares in her conversation that industry leaders need to understand their own and their teams’ capabilities and how to create collaborative environments where they can think strategically and challenge assumptions about what is possible.

“There is absolutely a business case to be made for making sure that you are providing the environment in which your individual people and those teams can feel supported, can feel collaborative, [and] have the mental, physical, emotional space to be able to think creatively and be innovative.”

She expresses optimism and hope that the results of this challenging time is that we all are more open to embracing change and valuing empathy, resilience, and courage.

The Avoka Group has the tools and strategies to help you develop these principles both in your personal life and in your career. While this unprecedented era will come to an end, having the right skills to adapt to change can help you to continue to succeed in the face of new challenges.
