Ready for a Change?
Sitting on kayaks in the middle of Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, NY in 2019, my husband and I started a new tradition of developing and sharing our own Personal Strategies with one another. It was a year during which we were both going through some major career changes and figuring out what we wanted to do with our time and energy.
While we had always done some form of professional development planning in the past, this was really the beginning of us developing more inclusive strategies for our whole lives, and sharing them with each other in a structured, coordinated way.
I can’t tell you how critical this process has become for us as individuals and as a family. By making it a structured and documented plan (like you would if you were putting together a simple strategic plan for your company), we can help each other dream bigger, expand our horizons, and identify areas where we can support each other’s goals. At some point in the process, it becomes a union of select goals – ones that we can work on together and hold each other accountable for.
And like any good strategy, it helps us make better decisions about how to spend our resources, what our values are, and how to continue to strive for a higher vision.
Over the years I have refined this process and developed a framework that I can use to help clients who are seeking to be more intentional about their road ahead. And while it isn’t always easy to set a course for a different future, our client feedback tells us that this framework provides a level of clarity and the confidence to follow through.
The beauty of this approach is that you can do it as an individual, with us as your Accountability Partner, or with your:
· Co-Founders or Partners
· Peer Groups – I am fortunate to have an amazing peer group of strong and thoughtful women!
· Your existing Coaches
The best news about this approach is that you don’t have to start now. If the idea of adding a new list, strategy, or habit is overwhelming – then don’t. Just start when you are ready. Reach out if you need help getting this off the ground.
